after a few years on hiatus, one electronica has gone all out in with a heavy debut 4 tracker from new member thought camera. the young belfast born producer who has been very busy in the studio putting together an arsenal of electronic weapons has also enjoyed an increase in popularity and profile in the local scene due to his hard work and commitment to the cause. with such a strong release about to drop in the next few weeks and with more unreleased material on its way this guy is worth keeping an eye on as a rising talent. without using too many bullshit analogies – this is release is simply dancefloor bliss and a djs dream that will be keep at the front of a record box for years to come and could be a favourite among various styles. the title track astral pilot comes in strong with spatial glitchy electronic chatter and tubular echoes that are pretty damn haunting. headspace comes in on a2 which is the antithesis of serenity and meditation that the name suggests. this acidic jack track is upbeat and laden with bass bleeding all over the place. flip it over and you have lifeforms on the b1 which is the most technical track on the release which ebbs and flows between solemn and sombre leaving you emotionally twisted yet intrigued this is one to look out for! obsession which aptly depicts this track a stalker in the night, haunting, imposing, friday 13th shit. not for the faint hearted.

tom hodge’s collaborative relationship with czech producer tomas dvorak, a.k.a floex began with a chance meeting in berlin. after a series of initial experiments in making music together, in 2016 tom completed a remix for floex’s “samorost 3” pre-remixes ep.
over the last three years, tom and floex have been working on “a portrait of john doe”, an album collaboration created with the prague radio symphony orchestra.

in ancient lddlm times, blddlm even, belgium could well have been the freaky house and ecstasy center of the world. if only we could remember all the lost hours. but after all, as the brussel saying goes: its friday, tomorrow is tuesday. at lddlm, we try not to reminisce, that was just setting the mood.we are very happy to welcome arthur johnson in our non-fold, a young producer from liege via marseille and la dame noir. aj is amongst those ever mutating artists, his u-turns slowly composing a real personality, and one fitting our contrarian attitude. in a way perfect stranger reminds us of a good 90’s farley/heller remix, not so much camp fire island than almost sweaty late night trancer. we love those tracks that do not fit our ethos a priori but that we can’t stop playing. cosmo vitelli is a long time family friend and he beams up this stranger through the axis into some kind of romantic italo-german anthem. ballada and secretary discordia show a different side of aj, a dub march echoing dif juz and a percussive machine funk number. we sincerely hope aj keeps on straying for the best, his way being our way.

jerome derradji received a call by one of chicago’s most renowned record dealer. it went like this: hey jerome, ive got all these reel to reel tapes of chicago house stuff. you want to take a look? less than 24 hours later, more than 160 reels were purchased and safely hauled back to the still music office and jerome got to work. in fact, these reels - that were lost for more than 20 years - contain some incredible stuff that we’ll be releasing in the years to come but right now it’s time to jack! around 50 of these tapes are dj mixes that were broadcasted on wgci and wbmx in the mid to late eighties mostly with the hot mix 5. so jerome decided to start a series of cassettes titled jack to share the absolute greatness of these mixes (and to raise enough funds to finance the transfer and licensing of the more crazy stuff that’s in the stack of reels) here is our first series with mixes from frankie knuckles, steve “silk” hurley, chicago mystery - devastating daryl and a few unknown mixes that were too essential to skip. these mixes were played on the radio only once and were lost until today. this series is an absolute window back to the heydays of chicago house music. all the mixes were professionally transferred and remastered to the best of our abilities.

with a brimming catalogue of music that operates in the more adventurous quarters of the techno music genre, a sagittariun preps his first release of 2018, with a remix disc of one the holy grail of tracks from one of the most endearing electronic acts of the 1990s. the sabres of paradise, aka andrew weatherall, gary burns and jagz kooner, released a clutch of acclaimed albums, singles and remixes between the years 1992 and 1995, when the trio disbanded. three albums for warp, remixes of the future sound of london, leftfield & lydon, bjork, new order and the dust brothers (aka chemical brothers), and not forgetting the now legendary smokebelch ii single, which must have soundtracked hundreds of thousands of sunsets and chillout after hours over the years, have left a huge treasure trove of a catalogue as part of their legacy. one production though has gone down in sabres folklore, since its release was limited to inclusion on one multi artist compilation cd album only, and it is this track, lick wid nit wit, that a sagittariun has unearthed, licensed and re-moulded, 25 years after it was produced, for release on his elastic dreams label.

search the name ‘burnis moleme and the returns are sparse. you’ll discover that his track ‘where is the answer’ appeared on soundway’s excellent nigerian disco compilation, doin’ it in lagos. and there are a few entries about this pmg re-issue of light my fire. but other than that, he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. he’s not even a minister of religion, the career path most nigerian stars from the 80s chose to follow. thankfully, we still have light my fire. produced by former funkee jake sollo and backed by a hot team of session musos including friday pozo, nkono teles and joseph ‘jojo’ kuo, burnis delivered a slab of slick afro disco boogie for the ages.
